Business Development Representative

Janek Performance Group is a fast-growing training and consulting provider with a strong list of clients that works with businesses and individuals to improve their sales performance through innovative solutions.

The Business Development Representative will need to be an excellent communicator, driven and have strong prospecting skills to assist in growing existing accounts and expanding our customer base. The Business Development Representative’s role will work closely with our marketing and sales team to generate potential leads, facilitating sales and connecting customers with the right sales professional.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Generate new business opportunities to fuel sales pipeline.
  • Identify, qualify, and cultivate sales leads through online research, social media platforms such as LinkedIn, events, referrals, in-bound leads, cold-calls and follow-up calls.
  • Create relationships with new contacts within existing accounts to identify their potential needs and qualify their interests before sending to account managers.
  • Moving solid leads through the marketing funnel, connecting them to a salesperson.
  • Following-up with potential customers who expressed interest but did not previously purchase any goods or services.
  • Performing calls or sending emails in support of marketing campaigns.
  • Manage enrollments and fill occupancy for Janek webinars.
  • Meet all activity and performance goals in accordance with sales & marketing plans.
  • Input, track, and manage all prospecting and sales activities through and other sales/marketing technology.
  • Gain product and market knowledge to effectively communicate the benefits of Janek’s products & services to prospects and to determine the appropriate recommendations.
  • Act as a bridge between Marketing and Sales. Be cognizant of each marketing initiative and work toward corporate objectives.

Required Experience / Qualifications

  • Ability to comprehend the core suite of Janek’s sales training offerings and clearly communicate the value proposition and business case to both prospects & existing customers.
  • 1-3 years related work experience in sales.
  • Ability to identify and reach out to contacts within existing client accounts.
  • Must have reasonable business acumen and the ability to quickly decipher sales performance gaps/opportunities and how services can support customer’s needs/objectives.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to promote an open exchange of ideas and information.
  • Must have strong business acumen and the ability to quickly decipher sales performance gaps/opportunities and how services can support customer’s needs/objectives.
  • Must have strong time management skills especially in allocating and prioritizing time in relation to sales activities.
  • Energy and desire to make numerous phone calls per day.
  • Must have strong influencing skills and the ability to persevere.

  • Ability to develop a comprehensive knowledge of products and potential sales applications.
  • Proficiency with Social Media platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook.
  • Experience with or another sales CRM.
  • Experience working with HubSpot or other marketing automation platforms.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Must have experience with online meeting presentation software such as WebEx, Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
  • Knowledge of sales training and/or certifications in competitive sales training methodologies is preferred.
  • Ability to write marketing emails is preferred.

Compensation package includes:

  • Compensation: $40,000 – $50,000 OTE (On-Target Earnings) which includes a base salary plus a quarterly bonus program
