Job Description:

The Learning Strategist is responsible for defining and applying Instructional Design methodologies to the development of both internal sales training programs and customized programs for Janek clients. The Learning Strategist is responsible for developing training programs and performing reviews of all deliverables to ensure adherence to style guidelines and to Instructional Design leading practices. The Learning Strategist demonstrates a commitment to increasing personal knowledge of Instructional Design methodologies as well as sales methodology and to applying this knowledge to increase the effectiveness of all deliverables. The Learning Strategist provides in-depth analysis of data researched while exercising judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining results and clearly communicates findings to the team. The Learning Strategist will support the sales team by recommending solution design for large, complex enterprise deals. The Learning Strategist will also support the Managing Partners in the research and development of internal IP and product development.


  • Strong learning design and strategy recommendations for large enterprise learning plans
  • Strong sales acumen (understands sales process, terminology and common challenges faced by sales professionals)
  • Strong Interpersonal Soft Skills content development and design experience (sales, communication, leadership, customer experience, etc.)
  • Strong instructor led training design of materials, including participant materials, facilitator guides, job aids, slide decks, and other supporting collateral
  • Understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to logically organize information
  • Ability to identify and summarize key business issues into learning examples
  • Ability to connect learning outcomes with business KPIs
  • Advanced knowledge of instructional design/development methodologies
  • Demonstrates a solid customer and partner focused approach to projects
  • Shows accountability by assuming ownership for assigned tasks from beginning to end, communicating obstacles, and engaging in problem-solving or escalation efforts as required
  • Meticulous attention to detail in reviewing and completing assignments and understands how content and materials link together
  • Demonstrated knowledge in Kirkpatrick levels of evaluation and creation of assessment strategies for on-the-job performance
  • Ability to link learning concepts together throughout learning products (from instructor guides to workbooks to PowerPoint slides to job aids)
  • Expert user in MS Word and PowerPoint with strong formatting skills
  • Proactive and able to manage projects under deadlines

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design/Similar or equivalent work experience
  • Instructional Design and Learning Strategy with soft skills training (sales, customer service, coaching)
  • Expert MS Word and PowerPoint experience
  • Graphic Design experience/Articulate/E-learning Background
  • Prior consulting experience
